Perspectives on the World Christian Movement
Global Frontier Missions has a long history with the Perspectives course. It has been named over and over as one of the tools that has most influenced people to get involved in world missions. GFM staff members have taught in over 200 Perspectives classes and helped facilitate the course as well. So, we are really big fans and encourage every believer to take the course!
We often times hear that certain Perspectives classes have had to cancel because they didn't have enough people enroll. So, GFM designed a 5-week small group study that hits some of the highlights from Perspectives. This Step In study is a great "taste of Perspectives" and a way to continue mobilizing more people into their role in the Great Commission until the next class forms. We will ship the books to you FREE in our effort to mobilize more people for the Great Commission!
GFM’s YouTube channel has already reached over a quarter million people with the help of our followers. Feel free to share these videos and resources on your Perspectives or personal social media pages or other avenues. Help us raise awareness and advocate for the unreached people groups of the world by working together to spread the word of God’s glory among all nations.
We have created several videos that compliment the Perspectives lessons really well and wanted to give easy access to those resources all in one place.
Perspectives 1: The Living God is a Missionary God
Perspectives 2: The Story of His Glory
This Biblical Basis of Missions video gives a good overview of God's heart for the nations from Genesis to Revelation and is a great compliment to Lesson 1 or 2 of the Perspectives course.
Perspectives Lesson 3: Your Kingdom Come
This Kingdom of God video gives good insights on the gospel of the kingdom and goes along well with Lesson 3 of Perspectives.
Perspectives Lesson 4: Mandate for the Nations
Perspectives Lesson 5: Unleashing the Gospel
This God's Heart for the Foreigner video makes a good companion to Lesson 3 or 4 in Perspectives. It quotes a lot of Old Testament verses concerning aliens, strangers, and foreigners and then connects those to Jesus modeling that by loving Samaritans, Canaanite women, Roman centurions, etc.
Perspectives Lesson 9: The Task Remaining
The "What is a UPG?" video can be used at any time during the Perspectives course to introduce the idea of UPGs. The "State of the World" video is basically an overview of Lesson 9 as we look at the unfinished task and where our missionaries and finances are being deployed.
Perspectives Lesson 10: How Shall They Hear?
Perspectives Lesson 11: Building Bridges of Love
The 3D gospel video is a synopsis of the book from Jason Georges by the same name. It is a quick overview of guilt/innocence, shame/honor, and fear/power worldviews and a great companion to the Lesson 10 and 11 classes on the cultural perspective.
Perspectives Lesson 12: Christian Community Development
The Christian Community Development video hits a lot of the highlights from Lesson 12 including entering communities as learners and other "When Helping Hurts" principles.
Perspectives Lesson 13: The Spontaneous Multiplication of Churches
The Power of Multiplication video goes along really well with Perspectives Lesson 13 since it talks about the 2 Tim 2:2 principle concerning the importance of not just adding disciples, but multiplying them.
Perspectives Lesson 14: Pioneer Church Planting
The CPM vs DMM video goes well with Lesson 14 as it talks about different methodogies being used to try to launch movements among unreached people groups. We have seen some classes use this with Lesson 13 also since it gives an overview of some of the principles of church planting and disciple making movements.
Perspectives Lesson 15: World Christian Partnership
The Habits of a Global Christian videos highlight "pray", "welcome", "go", "send", and "mobilize". There is an overview video and then one for each of the habits. These can be used during Lesson 15 of Perspectives or spread throughout the entire course much like OMF's The Six Ways to Reach God's World videos.
