Train and Go Apprenticeship

Global Frontier Missions collaborates with some of our Global Partners to offer a year-long apprenticeship program. The “train and go” apprenticeship starts with GFM’s five-month MTS in Atlanta, GA where you TRAIN and serve among refugees. Then, you GO with one of the organizations listed below for five to seven months serving on the mission field in the 10/40 window.

We also offer our own train and go apprenticeship, which includes GFM's five-month MTS followed by our SLICE program in South Asia.

In Atlanta, during the “TRAIN” phase of the apprenticeship, you will receive classroom instruction, life-on-life discipleship with long-term missionaries, and hands-on, cross-cultural missions experience serving among refugees. You will live incarnationally in a diverse community, applying daily what you learn in the classroom. Your cross-cultural communication skills will grow as you participate in opportunities such as ESL, children’s or youth ministry, evangelism, discipleship, community gardening, and other types of ministries that suit your gifts and passions.

The “TRAIN” phase will be followed by a seven-month “GO” phase on the mission field. This will include learning language and culture adaptation, mentoring by veteran missionaries, and working with the team to see God glorified among the nations. There may be opportunities for teaching English, relationship evangelism, and mercy ministry. The “GO” phase of the apprenticeship allows you to experience life overseas and learn from long-term missionaries who are excited to pour into the next generation of laborers.

The “train and go” apprenticeship is a wonderful way to equip yourself for cross-cultural service and invest in God’s Kingdom by serving refugees locally and unreached people groups globally! This program offers practical experiences and learnerships in the classroom, living in community, being mentored by long-term missionaries, and serving among refugees.
