Short Term Mission Trips for Youth, College Students, Adults, and Families

Interested in Short Term Mission Trips for youth that have lasting impact? Are you a college student looking for a chance to use your training and talent to assist in the spreading of the Gospel? Are you looking for an oppurtunity to give your family an experience in cross-cultural missions? If you answered YES! to any of these questions then a short term mission trip with Global Frontier Missions is the place for you! Our short term missions trips are open to youth groups, college students, adults, families, and medical missions groups.

Missions Exposure Trips (one day): We have one day Missions Exposure trips which are a great way to get exposed to the idea of doing ministry among internationals. We want individuals and church groups to see how they might get involved locally and globally in making disciples of all nations. These Missions Exposure trips are ideal for leaders from churches that are thinking about doing one of our Missions Explorer or Missions Explosion short term missions trips to check out the ministry and "spy out the land". They are also a perfect trip for a small group or church wanting to learn how they can be more missional by reaching out to the internationals living close to them. There are two different versions of our Missions Exposure trips:

We offer a "temple tour" that is basically a prayer walk where we visit a mosque, a Hindu temple, and/or a Buddhist temple. We will pray at each site, tour the facilities, and hear from one of the leaders about their religion. This is an intercession and learning trip and not a time for evangelism or debate! It's a chance to learn to pray more effectively and discover strategies to build bridges and share the Good News more effectively with people from other faiths.

The other option for our Missions Exposure short term missions trips is a "ministry tour" to get acquainted with the different strategies that are being used to reach out to refugees, immigrants, and international students. You may stop in at an internet café, visit an after school program, drop in on an ESL class, set up an apartment for an arriving refugee family, or meet some of the resident missionaries as well as some of people that we are trying to reach. Both the "temple tour" and the "ministry tour" are great short term missions trips that only take a few hours and will challenge you to get more involved in God's global purposes by reaching out to the nations that are coming to us.

Missions Explorer Trips (two to four days): Our Missions Explorer trips are great weekend short term missions trips for groups and churches that live in close proximity to our GFM locations such as Atlanta or Houston. It is perfect for professionals or families that otherwise have a hard time traveling far distances or getting off of school/work to serve. One thing that sets our short term mission trips apart is that we include a teaching element as we train groups in cultural senitivity, missions strategy, building relationships with people from other countries, as well as the biblical basis of missions. We have found this equipping to have a longer term impact for short term mission trip participants as they are encouraged to pray, give, go, welcome, and mobilize others in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. The outreach portion of the trip may include backyard Bible clubs, block parties, teaching ESL, community service projects, and/or relationship evangelism.

Missions Explosion Trips (five to eight days): Our Missions Explosion trips are our week long short term missions trips and are popular trips for spring and fall breaks as well as summer vacation. They provide the best opportunity for long-term impact as there is more time to get to know the people to whom we are ministering and to share the love of Christ with them. These trips include a little bit more teaching and training than the Missions Explorer trips and give opportunity for more outreach time as well.

We are proud members of the Standards Of Excellence in Short Term Mission which guarantees that our short term missions programs have been evaluated by other missions organizations and have met the seven standards of excellence in short term mission which are: God-centeredness, empowering partnerships, mutual design, comprehensive administration, qualified leadership, appropriate training, and thorough follow-up. We offer an all-inclusive short term missions experience where we take care of all of the logistics such as food, housing, ministry set-up, and training before, during, and after the trip so that you can come, learn, and serve. Most of the teams that come to minister with us end up returning to work with us again and several participants have ended up coming back to join us for summer internships, missionary training school, or long-term involvement. We love building long-term relationships and partnerships with local churches!
